PURPOSE:To suppress the jamming of recording paper by forming linearly carrying passages for communicating with a paper feeding part and a paper discharging part, respectively, so as to extend and exist in the tangential direction of a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:Recording paper in paper feeding cassettes 14, 14A is carried between a photosensitive drum 2 and a transfer device 8 through transfer passages 17C, 17D and a carrying passage 17, and a corona discharge is executed from the back part of the recording paper by the transfer device 8, by which a visible image on the photosensitive drum 2 is transferred to the recording paper. The recording paper to which the visible image is transferred is carried to the diagonal lower part with its image forming surface down along the carrying passage 17, and subsequently, the transferred visible image is fixed by a fixing device 18 and the last image is obtained. Thereafter, the recording paper passing through the fixing device 18 is discharged onto a discharge paper tray 28. In such way, the frequency of jamming of recording paper P can be decreased.
