PURPOSE:To reduce the load of a central processing unit and to improve the bus efficiency by independently separating an extension bus from a basic bus by a system extension device when the system extension device recognizes a prescribed signal from an extending adapter and performing the data transfer between the extending adapters. CONSTITUTION:When processing the data transfer between a master adapter 20 connected to the extension bus (b) and slave adapter 7(o)-7(m), an extension data transfer signal 4 for displaying the execution of the exchange of data in the extension bus (b) is transmitted from the master adapter 20 having the instruction right for the data transfer therebetween and when the system extension device 10 recognizes this signal, the system extension device 10 independently separates the extension bus (b) from the basic bus (a) and executes the data transfer processing between the master adapter 20 in the extension bus (b) and the slave adapters 7(o)-7(m). Thereby, the load of the CPU1 is eliminated and the bus efficiency can be improved. |
