PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a master equipment side comparatively by providing a detection means detecting a fault of a telephone line and making a signal received from a receiver ineffective when the fault is detected so as to reduce the necessity for the confirmation of an input data at each occasion. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 35 of a master equipment always detects a fault of a communication line via an interface 31, outputs a control signal to a recording/reproducing device 24 when the fault exists to raise a prescribed alarm(message) to a slave equipment, a telephone line is opened to complete the incoming operation. If a fault is detected, e.g., on the way of data reception, a signal is outputted from the CPU 35 to the computer 1, and the data at the incoming is all made ineffective and a message representing it is sent from the recording/ reproducing device 24. When no fault exists in the communication line, whether or not the data sending is finished is supervised by the master equipment.
