The present invention relates to a device for retaining the front part of a boot on a ski, particularly a cross-country ski. This device is characterised in that it comprises holding means rigidly applying the front part 7a of the sole 7 of the boot flat on the upper surface of the ski 3, these holding means determining, in cooperation with corresponding parts of the boot, the axis of rotation of the rear part of the boot and, particularly, of the heel 13 in the direction of its end raised position, so that, at the end of raising travel of the foot, the axis of rotation extends in a direction which is oblique relative to the longitudinal axis of the ski, this oblique direction being substantially parallel to the axis of the metatarso-phalangeal joint A of the foot. <IMAGE> |
