<p>PURPOSE:To obtain legible characters which are visibly outputted even when the characters are inputted either in a type mode or in a character processing mode by providing a holding mechanism which holds at least one equipment of a display and a printer so as to be relatively movable in a specific direction. CONSTITUTION:A keyboard input device 1 securely disposed on the front lower part of a device body is provided with a travel key 1-a for traveling a printing unit 3 in a direction A or in a direction reverse to A in addition to various keys for inputting characters. The printing unit 3 is provided with a rack 6. By transmitting the rotation of a motor 4 to the rack 6 through a pinion 5, the rack 6 is moved along a vertical slide rail, and the printer unit 3 is set so that the position of the upper part thereof is projected from the top surface of the device body. A user indicates a travel direction using the travel key 1a. While the user is depressing the key, a control circuit rotates the drive motor 4. In this manner, a display and a printer can be arranged suitably for a design and a device space.</p> |
