PURPOSE:To obtain lanthanum manganate powder having uniform particle diameter without containing isolated La2O3 by adding an ammonium carbonate solution to a mixed aqueous solution of respective nitrate or chloride of a specific ratio of La, Sr and Mn and heat-treating resultant precipitate. CONSTITUTION:Respective aqueous solutions of nitrate and/or chloride of La, Sr and Mn are mixed in a molar ratio of La, Sr and Mn expressed by the formula (0.02<=x<=0.5) and an ammonium carbonate solution is added to form precipitate. Next, the precipitate is isolated, washed in water, and heat-treated to synthesize a perovskite-type structure. Said producing method and is economi cally excellent. Besides, resultant lanthanum manganate-based powder is stoved to ZrO2 electrolyte with making powder having <=1 mum averaged particle diame ter to pasty in, e.g., a case of using as an air electrode of a solid fuel cell, to afford and electrode having excellent adhesiveness and containing fine pores. |
