O.Z. 0050/38662 Homopolymers and copolymers of propylene are prepared, using a Ziegler-Natta catalyst system, from (1) a titanium component which may be applied to a carrier and consists of titanium, magnesium, chlorine and a phthalic acid derivative, with or without other components, (Z) an aluminumalkyl and (3) a silicon compound as a cocatalyst. The characteristic feature of this process is that a silicon compound of the composition (C2n-1H4n-1)xSi(OR)4-x, where R is a hydrocarbon radical, n is from 1 to 5 and x is from 1 to 3, is used as (3). |
