PURPOSE:To suppress the fall of an active material and lengthen the life of a battery by enclosing a paste type pole plate with a cloth having an elastic body such as a glass mat stuck onto the inside. CONSTITUTION:An elastic body 2 is provided on a surface making contact with an active material of a paste type pole plate 1, which plate 1 is enclosed from above of the elastic body 2 with a bag consisting of a polyester fabric 3, and the bag is sewed with a high tension polyester thread 4. As the elastic body 2, in addition to generally used glass mats, fine glass mats used in a separator for sealed lead-acid battery and sponge sheets such as polyurethane are suitable. Thus, the elastic body 2 is pressed inward by the tension of the cloth 3 to prevent the fall of the active material of the pole plate 1 surface layer, and a long-life battery can be obtained with a simple manufacturing process. |
