PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber board having excellent strength and rigidity and useful as an auxiliary material for buildings by spreading a specific forming material in an amount required for forming the board on a mold so as to arrange the fibers in a plate direction and subsequently pressing and forming the raw material with a press die. CONSTITUTION:A forming raw material comprising inorganic fibers (e.g. glass fibers) mixed with a prescribed amount of an adhesive is spread in an amount required for forming into a high density board on a mold so as to arrange the fibers in the plane direction, followed by pressing and thermally forming the spread forming raw material with a press die from the upper surface of the raw material to provide the objective fiber board.
