PURPOSE:To obtain the subject application agent, containing a specific polyether polyol and capable of imparting hydrophilic performance excellent in durability for water by addition thereof to synthetic fiber. CONSTITUTION:A hydrophilic property-imparting agent containing any compounds expressed by the formula (A is residue after removing active hydrogen from polyamine compounds, polyalkyleneimine compounds or derivatives thereof having e active hydrogens; x is 2-4; y is 8-30; z is 2 or a mixture of 2 with 3; b is 0-30; c is 0-5; the average number of equiv. of CyH2yO based on one molecule is 0.2e to 5e; d is 1-200; e is 6-300) as an essential component is kneaded with a resin polymer capable of forming synthetic fiber in preferably an extrusion spinning process and then spun. Synthetic fiber having strong hydrophobic property can be processed into synthetic fiber having hydrophilic performance excellent in durability for water by the aforementioned method. The above-mentioned compound is obtained by subjecting the polyamine, the polyalkyleneimine, etc., as a starting raw material and an 8-30C long-chain alkylene oxide as an essential component to addition reaction. |
