PURPOSE:To obtain the titled resin particles, having improved thermal dimensional stability and suitable for wide uses of heat insulating materials, by blending an amorphous vinylidene chloride based resin, prepared by blending an N- substituted maleimide, etc., and having a high glass transition point with an organic volatile foaming agent. CONSTITUTION:Resin particles obtained by blending (A) 100pts.wt. vinylidene chloride based copolymer, consisting of 30-65mol.% vinylidene chloride, 1-10mol.% N-substituted maleimide, e.g. N-methylmaleimide, etc., and 25-70mol.% one or more vinyl monomers copolymerizable therewith and having >=85 deg.C glass transition point (Tg), a point where tensile elongation exceeds 200% at a temperature of >=Tg-<=Tg+50 deg.C and 0.1-1mm particle diameter with (B) 1-40pts.wt. organic volatile foaming agent.
