EVACUATION-ASSISTING MATERIAL AND LAXATIVE CONTAINING THE SAME

PURPOSE:To provide and evacuation-assisting material composed of apple fiber and corn fiber and effective in preventing diarrhea. CONSTITUTION:The objective material can be produced by mixing (A) apple fiber produced by finely pulverizing the squeezing residue of apple and (B) corn fiber produced by finely pulverizing corn husk at a proper weight ratio (2:8 to 8:2 in terms of dry material). The evacuation action can be improved without causing diarrhea by using the subject material in combination with warm enema for evacuation or with a laxative such as picosulfate sodium and the material is suitable e.g. for aged person unable to get up on a bed.
