TREATMENT OF GASEOUS NOX

PURPOSE:To always attain a high rate of treatment of NOx by preparing an aq. soln. contg. a specified amt. of an azido compd. by dissolution under acidic conditions, introducing NOx and at least one of plasma and oxygen into the soln., reducing and removing the NOx. CONSTITUTION:An aq. soln. contg. >=0.02M azido compd. is prepd. by dissolution under acidic conditions, NOx and at least one of plasma and oxygen are introduced into the soln. and the NOx is reduced and removed by a reaction with the azido compd. Since the plasma and oxygen act as reaction accelerators, the amt. of the NOx can be remarkably reduced. A reduction catalyst is not required, the reduction reaction is enabled at room temp., the size of equipment can be reduced and the operation can be simplified.
