PURPOSE:To obtain the title lubricating oil having excellent compatibility with hydrogen-containing fluorocarbon compounds in the whole temperature range used, excellent heat resistance, electric insulating properties and lubricating performances, consisting essentially of an ester of a specific group-containing hindered polyol. CONSTITUTION:The objective lubricating oil consisting essentially of an ester shown by formula I [(n) is an integer of 1-5; R<1> is 4-17C alkyl (preferable exam ple, 2,4,4-trimethyl-n-pentyl); R<2> is 1-6C hydrocarbon or group shown by formula II (at least one of R<1> is branched alkyl)]. The lubricating oil is preferable for refrigerator using especially 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane as a refrigerant. |
