<p>PURPOSE:To treat sewage with many kinds of microorganisms by forming filter beds for an aeration chamber with a large number of filter media leaving gaps between adjacent media owing to the complex shape. CONSTITUTION:About 10,000 filter media 21 made of corrosion resistant plastics, etc., are packed at random to form filter beds 22, 32, 39. The upper part 21a of each of the filter media 21 is taperingly formed and the cylindrical part 21b has two recesses 21c. Since the filter beds 22, 32, 39 are used, a flow of sewage in an aeration chamber is made various, various living environments for microorganisms can be produced and many kinds of microorganisms can be propagated. Org. matter contained in the sewage are efficiently digested and degraded by the microorganisms.</p> |
