PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy and monotonosity of a pulse width by providing plural stages of delay gates, plural differential amplifiers, a control circuit and a pulse generating circuit and varying the pulse width with a delay signal whose delay time is controlled with high accuracy. CONSTITUTION:A delay time Td from the application of an input pulse signal Sin. to a delay circuit 1 at a point of time t0 till a delay pulse signal Sd appears at a point of time t1 is proportional to a stage number of delay gates G through which the input pulse signal Sin fed to the input terminal of the delay circuit 1 passes. Thus, when the input pulse signal Sin is delayed by a time, the input pulse signal Sin passes through number of delay gates corresponding to a number resulting from a desired delay time divided by a delay time per one delay gate. Let the delay time per one stage of delay gate be 120ps, the delay time is controlled by a very thin step. As a result, a pulse width of an output pulse signal Sout is varied finely with high accuracy. |
