The protection circuit (1) protects the radio components from the noise transients obtained during ON-OFF switching and is connected in parallel to the ON-OFF switch (3). It has a contact (30) inserted between the voltage supply line (4) of the onboard network and the voltage line (7') for the car radio (2). The radio voltage line (7') is held closed via a timing element (41,42) for a given duration after opening of the ON-OFF switch (3). USE - For car radio comprising a number of individual components.
