PURPOSE:To realize the reading of cards without arranging the direction of the cards, by deciding the character converting method based on a reading station and a corner cut detection information. CONSTITUTION:The reading data given from a reading station 13 is stored in a buffer register 14 having the capacity equivalent to a sheet of card and in the form of card image maintained. At the same time, both the reading direction and the character converting method of the register 14 are decided based on the detection information of corner cut detectors 11 and 12. Then the information of the register 14 is sent to an upper device 20. The information sent to the device 20 is equal to the fact that the paper cards 10 arranged as prescribed previously are supplied. |
