PURPOSE:To prevent paper from slacking and facilitate resumption by operating a mechanical brake device on the rewind side at a standstill, giving a low speed command to a takeup side drive device, and by using the current limitation value throttled. CONSTITUTION:When a tension must be given to paper while a takeup device is at a standstill, a rewind side roll 1 is held with brakes applied by a mechanical brake device 2, and thus rotation is prohibited. A takeup side roll 8 liberates another mechanical brake device 10, and the current limitation value 16 is throttled while a low speed command is given by a drive motor 11 through a winder drum 9, and the motor 11 shall work as a torque motor. Thereby the paper is held in the condition out of slack, and the paper is prevented from wrinkle or cut even in the case of resumption after a long downtime, which eliminates necessity for unslackening of the paper by hand. |
