<p>PURPOSE:To completely eliminate noise, vibration and generation of dust in a motion converting section in a feed mechanism for a machine tool or the like, by using magnetic force for conversion between the rotational motion of a rotatable rotary motion member and the rectilinear motion of a movable rectilinear motion member. CONSTITUTION:A motion converting section 1 is composed of a ferromagnetic material screw 2 and a nut part 3 concentric with the screw 2, having an annular gap. When the screw 2 is rotated, the nut part 3 turns following a magnet 5 so that the nut part 3 converts its rotational motion into a rectilinear motion so as to rectilinearly move. Further, conversion reverse to the above-mentioned conversion is also possible, that is, a rectilinearly motion of the nut part 3 is converted into a rotational motion for rotating the screw 2. Thus, it is possible to completely eliminate noise, vibration and generation of dust in the motion converting section.</p> |
