The lead wires (2, 3) of the stripped cable end are inserted in the mouth of a turning-over device (10), against which the screening mesh (5) beneath the cable insulation (6) abuts. The screening mesh can be widened outwards by the angled outer face of the turning over device as the lead wires are drawn through the latter by applied suction. The screening mesh is then turned back on itself to overlie the cable insulation adjacent the stripped end. USE/ADVANTAGE - Clears section to be joined of screening. Copes with cable with reinforcing glass fibres.
