PURPOSE:To improve the durability of an oxygen blowing vessel and obtain a stable use state in spite of a large change in temp. in particular by using the bricks which consist of high purity CaO of low vapor pressure at elevated temp. as aggregate and are added with carbon, in constituting the peripheral part of the tuyere in the bottom wall part of said vessel. CONSTITUTION:In the oxygen blowing vessel provided with a blowing tuyere opening into the inside by penetrating through the vessel, the peripheral wall part of said tuyere is constituted of lime-carbon base bricks consisting of 5-30% carbon by weight and 70-90% lime of >=90%, more preferably >=95%, purity. The lime is dense-sintered or electromolten lime, and the reasons for determining the lower limit of purity lie in that the composition components other than lime, for example, SiO2 and Fe2O3 both react with CaO, and create mineral of extremely low m.p., and that this degrades the corrosion resistance of the clinker itself. In addition, MgO creates low m.p. mineral when infiltered with Si in molten steel. Below the lower limit, the carbon has poor heat spalling characteristic and corrosion resistance, and in excess of the upper limit, it has poor packing characteristic at the molding, and has easy tendency to oxidation. |
