摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the adjusting accuracy of an acoustic lens and to efficiently detect an image of high resolving power by reflecting the reflected ultrasonic wave converged by and transmitted through a sample by the surface of the acoustic lens to allow the same to be vertically incident on a wave detecting surface. CONSTITUTION:An acoustic lens 10 having a concave surface is arranged so that the respective surfaces thereof are opposed to a flat detector 11 having a flat wave detecting surface and the space between them is filled with a coupler liquid 7 and a sample S is arranged in said space. The ultrasonic wave projected from the lens 10 and transmitted through the sample S is detected by the detector 11. At this time, the ultrasonic wave projected from the lens 10 and reflected from the wave detecting surface of the detector 11 is converged to the sample S to be transmitted therethrough and again reflected from the surface of the lens 10 to be converted to a sonic wave parallel to the optical axis of the lens 10 and the sonic wave is vertically incident on the wave detecting surface of the detector 11. By this method, the greater part of the ultrasonic wave transmitted through the sample S is vertically incident on the wave detecting surface of the detector 11 and the ultrasonic wave can be efficiently detected and severe position adjusting accuracy is not required.
