PURPOSE:To enhance triboelectrifiability of a toner indifferent of adding fine hydrophobic silica particles or not by incorporating a binder resin, a colorant, and a specified metal complex salt dye in a toner. CONSTITUTION:A carrier is formed by coating the surface of each core particle with a mixture of a styrene-acrylic copolymer and a silicone resin, and the toner comprises at least the binder resin, the colorant, and the metal complex salt dye represented by formula I in which each of X and Y is H, halogen, carboxy, hydroxy, nitro, sulfon, or sulfoamide; and A is H, K, Na, or aliphatic ammonium cation, thus permitting the toner to be given a proper range of friction charge proper in polarity by mutual friction between the toner and the carrier, and therefore the triboelectrifiability of the toner to be enhanced indifferent of adding fine hydrophobic silica particles or not. |
