<p>A method of producing acetal compounds by condensing at least one aromatic aldehyde such as (un)substituted benzaldehyde with a penta- or hexahydric alcohol such as sorbitol in a hydrophobic organic solvent in the presence of a lower alcohol and an acid catalyst, wherein the lower alcohol and water are discharged from the reaction system at least thrice.</p> |
