<p>In order to control the velocity and spacing of a spaced feed of objects, there is a member (1) rotatable about an axis (2) and having at least one receptacle (7), the objects being fed into the apparatus in spaced succession so that they are captured in the receptacle (7) and so that they acquire the circular motion of the member (1). The receptacle (7) has means (8, 12) for releasing the objects so that they are projected with a predetermined velocity and with a predetermined frequency. The phase relationship of a rotatable feeder (25) and the rotatable member (1) is controlled by generating a signal representative of the phase difference of the rotatable members, filtering the signal for maintaining loop stability and controlling the drive means of the rotatable member (1) using the signal.</p> |
