Method of working on railway track or bed - uses mobile machine with tools and equipment which can project and retract adjustable mechanism

The method is for working on the railway track or the ballast bed. It requires a mobile machine carrying the necessary tools and equipment which can project forwards in line with the track an adjustable mechanism whilst it is itself clamped to the rails. In an initial forwards movement the adjustable mechanism is advanced along the track and clamped to the track rails, and in an immediately succeeding movement forward by the machine the adjustable mechanism is unclamped and withdrawn. USE/ADVANTAGE - Railway track servicing machine allows a rapid and simple advance operation on the site of the work.
