Spring clip on railway line - engages plastics plate which holds rail and insulates it from sleeper

The plastics device is used for fixing a railway line to a sleeper by a spring clip. It has a knuckle (8) in which the spring clip engages, and lies on its underside against the rail. The bearing area stretches longitudinally parallel to the rail, ending in cross edges where parts of the spring clip run. In association with the cross edges (12, 13) of the bearing area (4) are integral widening elements (16, 17). Upper surfaces with respect to the underside run outwards in the long direction to the ends (20, 21) and are inclined in the transverse direction by reducing the material thickness.
