The line section disconnection system responds to an overcurrent or short-circuit current detected by comparing the power flow in 2 successive line sections (200) via a common control device (54), with information exchange between the latter and the adjacent control devices (S3, S5). Each of the control devices (S1...S6) has a current transducer (4) with a corresponding reference direction (R), with detection of the AC component at the overcurrent base frequency, to provide a release signal for a switch (3).
