During the process comprising mechanical sepn. into solids and liqs. and clarification of the liq. in a flotation appts., components of the sepd. liq. are flocculated, pptd. and degassed by addn. of flocculants, precipitants and reactants, before the liq. enters the flotation appts. ADVANTAGE - Undissolved and dissolved components are sepd., irrespective of dia. and specific wt., and of the type and dry matter content of the liq. manure. Addn. of aids is reduced to a min., and use of ecologically acceptable additives means that the prods. can be used as liq. and solid fertilisers. The liq. fertiliser has little smell, penetrates the soil easily, emits no NH3, does not attack plants, can be used with a wide range of vegetation, gives uniform distribution of nutrients immediately available to the plants, can be applied easily in precise amt., and gives no problems with water contamination. The solid fertiliser is a transportable N fertiliser with slow release affect, is rich in nutrients and humic acids, improves the structure, esp. as a substitute for peat, has high hydrocarbon content and C/N ratio of about 30:1, and can be composted
