The data matrices (DM) of the signal values have a constant number of lines (ZZ). Data matrices with a variable number (ZP) of data pockets (DP) air formed in dependence on the filling rate of a buffer memory, with identical number of columns in a data matrix. Each jacket (DPI,2...) gets a packet/characteristic number (NR). The data matrix lines are secured by an error-corrected block code, whose corection capability corresponds with the data packet column number. The test bits are grouped into test packets (PP), thus complementary the data matrix into a code matrix (cm). The data and test packets are segmentially transmitted. USE/ADVANTAGE - E.g. for video conferencing or picture telephone. Causes only small delay. Variable redundancy enables high correction efficiency at low data rates. |
