The diagnostic system processes the outputs from sensors monitoring various engine parameters. The data are read repeatedly to monitor changes and are compared with a master program. The various engine functions are divided into sub-modules and are processed separately. The sub-module readings are collected in the master program. The system enables separate cylinders to be checked as well as compiling data on trends. This enables engine ageing to be measured. ADVANTAGE - Rapid diagnosis of overall condition and of individual functions.
