Method of improving low moor-land with sand sub strata - involves use of deep plough share and second smaller share to plough two tier furrow

The method of improving lower moorland with a sand sub strata involves the use of a deep plough share (1) and a secondary smaller share (2) to plough a two tier furrow. First the surface is levelled, the turf thickness and quality is defined, then a graphic system of co-ordinates is drawn up to determine the whole area to be worked. The furrow depth and width are regulated according to the co- ordinates value, taking into account the subsequent equalising process. Sand and sand and turf mix is moved to equate the difference of the determined and graphically represented values. The area is then worked over with fertilizer to homogenise the upper ground layer. USE/ADVANTAGE - Produces fertile and productive soil.
