PURPOSE:To inhibit the generation of a relaxation vibration in the title device by a method wherein pulsed excitation light having same or integer times as high as that of the relaxation vibration is fed to a solid laser. CONSTITUTION:An LD 12 for bias excitation use is ready-actuated in advance and an LD 14 for pulse excitation use is actuated. A pulse output value setting part 42a is regulated variably to change the magnitude of a laser beam 36 and the output value of pulsed excitation light 34 at the time of a disired laser output value is decided. This output value of the LD 14 is set in the setting part 42a and is inputted from the setting part 42a. Then, the frequency of a relaxation vibration, which is generated in laser output by applying the pulsed excitation light to a Vd.YAg laser 20, is measured. The period of the relaxation vibration is calculated and is outputted from a pulse width setting part 42b as a pulse width for relaxation vibration inhibition use. In this state, when an external signal is inputted in an external signal input part 43, the light 34 is generated from the LD 14 for starting use by an output command from a pulse generation control part 42c and the output value of the laser 20 is increased. Thereby, an oscillation device, which is capable of performing high-speed modulation, is compact and can be manufactured at low cost, of a solid laser can be obtained. |
