PURPOSE:To eliminate adverse influence of higher harmonic components, to reduce noise and vibration and to prevent deterioration of operational characteristics or increase of installation space by employing low magnetostriction material at the opposite ends in the axial direction of a laminated stator core and mounting a magnetic wedge in a slot. CONSTITUTION:Higher harmonic magnetic flux induced in a stator winding 4 by the higher harmonic components of current has tendency to concentrate at the opposite ends in the axial direction of a stator core 3 and the opposite ends in the axial direction of a rotor core 8 and thereby the higher harmonic magnetic flux passing through cores 12, 13 scarcely cause magnetostriction. Magnetic wedges 18, 19 mounted in a slot section suppress leakage of higher harmonic magnetic flux from the stator core 3 thus suppressing higher harmonic components of current induced in a rotor conductor 9 and reducing electromagnetic noise. Intermediate part of the stator core 3 is constituted of laminated core 14 and the central part of the rotor core 8 is constituted of laminated core 15. |
