The machine comprises two totally independent parts: the support for gripping the frame of the racket, and the tensioner. The support is composed of a bar (4) with two fingers (5) which can be moved in order to hold the frame of the racket. The tensioner (2) is composed of a "U"-shaped support (7) - which supports a sector of the frame of the racket during stretching of the string -, and a drum (8) for winding the string, holding the string by means of a floating plate mounted on said drum. The string is stretched with no rigidity between the support and the tensioner in a convenient manner and without distorting the frame of the racket. <IMAGE>
