PURPOSE:To improve a convenience in use of an operating device and eliminate an erroneous operation by a method wherein when a human body is detected by a human body sensor, a classification displaying means for classifying a cooking system or a cooking menu is driven and displayed. CONSTITUTION:A specified voltage is applied to a control part 14 from a specified voltage generating circuit 18 through an AC power supply 15, a low voltage transformer 16 and a rectifier circuit 17 so as to drive the control part 14. A display part 19 and an input part 20 are controlled and a human body sensor 21 is controlled through a sensor circuit 22. The human body sensor 21 is comprised of an ultrasonic sensor or an infrared ray sensor or the like so as to detect that a human body approaches. The display part 19 is comprised of a rough classification display means 26 including an automatic coking display means 23, an automatic heating and display means 24 and manual display means 25; a character display means 27, a fluorescent display tube 1, a group of display lamps 11; a temperature adjusting display means 28; and a function display means 29 or the like. When it is judged that the human body approaches, the rough classification display means 26, i.e. the automatic cooking display means 23, the automatic heating display means 24 and the manual display means 25 or the like are illuminated. Accordingly, a selection of the cooking menus may easily be performed and the operation may easily carried out and then no erroneous operation is carried out.
