PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a repeater by forming the core of the optical fiber cable of a material which can induce and release light by receiving the external energy on the outside of the cable. CONSTITUTION:The core 2 of the optical fiber cable 1 is formed of the material which can induce and release light by receiving the external energy on the outside of the cable. For example, the material which can induce and release the solid laser beam is exemplified by Al2O3+Cr<3+>, glass+Nd<3+>, etc. The inductive release arises in the core 2 and an input light signal 5 is amplified if energy is injected to the cable by previously applying an external energy injecting device 4 having an energy source of heat, light, electron, etc., from the outside to the cable and the light signal 5 is inputted to the cable while the core 2 is put into the state of allowing the inductive release of the light. The light signal 5 is amplified by the optical fiber cable 1 itself in this way and the communicatable distance can be expanded. |
