PURPOSE:To ensure an amount of oil to a torque converter so as to contribute to improvement of fuel consumption by applying an engine load corresponding pressure and a governed line pressure to a converter relief valve so that a valve opening to a torque converter side is reduced by decrease of the line pressure. CONSTITUTION:A throttle modulator pressure, governed by a modulator valve 5, is set such that a line pressure, governed by a regulator valve 2 based on the throttle modulator pressure when a high speed is generated, is a necessary connecting capacity of a friction connecting element. However, as far as the line pressure is properly governed in a relation to the throttle modulator pressure, a converter relief valve 3 functions as a normal relief valve to supply pressure oil while restricting an upper limit pressure to a torque converter (T/C). In the case of decreasing the line pressure relating to the throttle modulator pressure such as when a speed change is operated to connect the friction connecting element, the valve 3 functions so as to maintain the line pressure by restricting supply of the pressure oil to the torque converter (T/C). |
