PURPOSE:To obtain a camera having simple structure and capable of switching a manual focusing mode and an automatic focusing mode by storing the focusing position of a lens at the time of switching to the automatic focusing mode and restoring the lens to a position which is stored at the time of restoring the mode. CONSTITUTION:When range-finding is finished in the automatic focusing mode, a motor 20 is reversely rotated and a photographing lens 36 is restored to an initial position. The pulses are counted by a pulse plate 40 during the above actions and the number of pulses is stored in a storage circuit 43. When the motor 20 is normally rotated and the lens 36 is driven to a position corresponding to the result of range-finding, the motor 20 is stopped. Next, at the time of restoring to the manual focusing mode side, the motor 20 is reversely rotated again to restore the lens 36 to the initial position. Thereafter, the motor 20 is normally rotated until the number of pulses from the pulse plate 40 attains the number of pulses stored in the circuit 43, and the lens 36 is stopped at the position. |
