Automatic method and appts. for fusion-cutting of heat-shrunk sheathing on bottles comprises a nozzle box (53) containing several blocks (51) which are stacked parallel to the axis of a bottle (8) and can be moved out or retracted to contact the surface of tube-like heat-shrunk sheathing (9) on the bottle and so ensure correct positioning w.r.t. the bottle and several nozzles which are individually defined in individual blocks (51) and direct hot air onto the sheathing.
