PURPOSE:To stably and uniformly regulate the layer thickness of developer with simple constitution by constituting a layer thickness regulating member of a round edge steel plate so that the round edge end of the round edge steel plate may bite into a developer carrier. CONSTITUTION:When a developing roller 10 is rotated in a state where the round edge steel plate 12' is warped toward a reverse side to the contact side thereof with the roller 10, the round edge steel plate 12' is pressed to the roller 10 by frictional force and pressed back by the spring force of the plate 12' to hold its posture. Thus, the round edge end 12a of the plate 12' bites into the roller 10 and the layer thickness is regulated by the smooth surface of the round edge end 12a to obtain a uniform layer thickness. Since the plate 12' is stabilized by the spring force in a state it is warped, a pressure impressing means is not necessitated. When the rotation of the roller 10 is stopped, the frictional force by the rotation is eliminated, so that the plate 12' is restored to a state (B) by the spring force of the plate 12' and plastic deformation is prevented even though a special pressure releasing means is not provided. |
