A loudspeaker has a diaphragm with a two ring edge section for securing the unit in a way that min. distortion of the acoustic waves. The loudspeaker diaphragm (M) has a coupling to a dome shaped centre (K) that is subjected to the displacement provided by a moving coil stage (ST). The edge of the diaphragm has one ring of a specific stiffness (S1) and a second ring with another stiffness (S2). The outer ring is coupled by a thin section (G) to the main frame. ADVANTAGE - Provides good mechanical load bearing coupled with flat freq. response and low distortion.
