PURPOSE:To miniaturize a device by constituting the device so that an image forming operation cannot be carried out without removing a freely attachable/ detachable protective cover from the image forming device after loading a cartridge. CONSTITUTION:After loading the freely attachable cartridge C provided with an image carrier, if a shutter 6 of the freely attachable protective cover is not removed from the main body device, a sheet carrying part elevating lever 18 cannot be sufficiently rotated to the right side with the interference of a sheet carrying part 20 to a projection 62 of the shutter 6, and also the front cover 17 of the main body device cannot be sufficiently closed. Because of this, since the projection for a door switch is not pressurized to the door switch, the main body device is not energized, and the operation of the machine with the shutter 6 left inside the device can be prevented. By removing this protective cover outside the device, the space to evade the protective cover is not needed inside the device, and the device can be miniaturized. |
