PURPOSE:To keep the secret in an information processing system by detecting the graphic information with an instruction of an instruction means when the document received by a reception means is displayed on a display means and outputting the output information corresponding to the detected graphic information. CONSTITUTION:The mail data are received by a computer set at the transmission side and stored once in an auxiliary storage device 8. Then the mail data are read out of the storage device 8 and sent to a main storage 3, and the presence or absence of an automatic open mode is decided. When an automatic open mode is confirmed, a header part is first read and a mail header is outputted. Then the first icon type is recognized, and an application program corresponding to the recognized icon is retrieved through the storage 3 or device 8. The application program is started after decision of its presence. At start-up of this program, the address information on the mail data stored in an address area is applied to the application program. Thus it is possible to select the evolving way of the received mail data and therefore the secret is kept in an information processing system.
