PURPOSE:To collect current efficiently by disposing superconducting coils dedicated to current collection and current collecting coils, corresponding to ground coils, on a magnetic levitation train mounting superconducting coils for levitation and thrust and exciting the superconducting coils for current collection with AC current. CONSTITUTION:Superconducting coils 1a1-1c1, 1a2-1c2, dedicated to current collection as well as superconducting coils for levitation and thrust (not shown), are mounted on a magnetic levitation train 7 and excited with three-phase AC current. When the train 7 travels with high speed, e.g. 500 Km/h, six-phase sine wave currents containing higher harmonics are induced electromagnetically in levitation coils 2a1-2f1, 2a2-2f2 on the ground. AC current containing higher harmonics and having maximum amplitude is collected through current collecting coils 3a1-3c1, 3a2-3c2 thence fed to a converter, a battery or an inverter (not shown) and utilized for excitation of the superconducting coils dedicated to current collection. |
