PURPOSE:To completely eliminate stray light propagated in a clad by containing an additive to the clad. CONSTITUTION:After a clad 1 is formed to have groove-shaped sections by scattering an additive 4 into the material of the clad 1, cores are formed by sacking the groove-shaped sections with a core-forming material. When the clad 1 is coated with a clad coating material 3 in which the additive 4 is scattered, this optical waveguide is formed. When the waveguide is formed in such a way, light leaking out 1 to the clad 1 from the cores 2 and stray light propagated through the clad 1 are absorbed and/or scattered by the additive 4 contained in the clad section. Therefore, the stray light can easily be eliminated completely from optical waveguide irrespective of its shape. |
