PURPOSE:To obtain a melt blown nonwoven fabric having a homogeneous basis weight distribution in the width direction by increasing the width of arranged jetting gas ports installed adjacently to plural discharge holes for a molten polymer from that of the discharge hole row for the molten polymer by a specific value or above. CONSTITUTION:The width of jetting gas ports 10 and 10' is set at a value >=2cm, preferably >=10cm larger on one side than that of a row of discharge holes 11 for a molten polymer. thereby, gas streams jetted from the widely installed parts act as a barrier for accompanying air streams in melt blowing and the basis weight distribution of the nonwoven fabric at the ends in the sheet width direction is homogenized to reduce also the difference in size between the central part and the ends of the sheet.
