PURPOSE:To expand the detection range of a defect and to improve the detection accuracy by switching and using a division type probe and a vertical probe according to the distance of a measurement position. CONSTITUTION:Physical characteristics of each matcher 28 consisting of a coil are varied to nearly equalize the maximum value of the sensitivity characteristic B of the division type probe to that of the vertical probe. A controller 30 which puts the composite ultrasonic probe 20 in operation applies a pulse signal (c) by a transmitting circuit 31 to the transmitting vibrator 23a of the division probe through a connection terminal 27a at each prescribed period P. Further, the received signal e outputted by a receiving vibrator 23b is inputted to a 1st receiving circuit 32 to remove noise components of the received signal (e) with a preset threshold voltage VSH and the signal is applied as a 1st peak wave signal e1 to the longitudinal axis of a CRT display unit 34 as a defect analyzing means through a signal switching circuit 33, so that this signal e1 is outputted to, for example, a recorder through a defect gate circuit 35. Thus, the handling of the probe is made easy and the operability of the whole ultrasonic flaw detecting device is improved greatly. |
