PURPOSE:To easily produce a large quantity of the subject liquid absorbents by placing a preheated cover sheet on a melt-formed product composed of a formed padding material and another cover sheet and sealing the circumference of both cover sheets. CONSTITUTION:A padding material 3a formed by a forming machine 3 is laminated to a cover sheet 8 and the laminate is passed through a heating apparatus 4 to effect the melt-forming of the laminate. The formed laminate is covered with another cover sheet 11 and the circumference of both cover sheets is welded by a heat-welding apparatus 6. The cover sheet 8, 11 holding the sealed padding material 3a are punched with a punching apparatus 7 to obtain a liquid absorbent such as breast pad 3c having self-retainable shape.
